About me
My work brings together scientific research, teaching, training, clinical practice and science communication.
I seek to understand how we think, feel, decide and relate to one another, bringing scientific knowledge closer to everyday life and to the challenges that arise in personal, professional and organisational contexts.
My career draws together contributions from Experimental Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology, and Evolutionary Psychology, which I seek to combine in research, teaching, training and clinical practice.
I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology, University of Minho, where I direct the Master's in Human Cognition and have coordinated, since 2012, the Perception and Evolution Research Group. I have also carried out research at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in the areas of learning, time perception, and animal and comparative cognition.
I currently chair the Portuguese Association of Experimental Psychology (APPE) and serve on the Fiscal Council of the Psychology Association of the University of Minho (APsi).
